Toys for Tots, Rensco Provides Holiday Gifts for 300 THA Youth
December 17, 2015
Thanks to Toys for Tots and Rensselaer County, more than 300 children who live in Troy Housing Authority’s public housing will receive presents this holiday season.
Toys for Tots donated 34 bags of toys for boys and girls ages 0-12 to Resident Action Council of Troy (REACT), Troy’s city-wide public housing tenant association.
Gifts included stuffed animals and dolls, Lego sets and Hotwheels cars, jewelry-making kits and board games, and much more.
Toys for Tots distributed approximately 124,000 toys this year in the Capital Region and 114,000 last year. Toys for Tots is a program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and collects new, unwrapped toys each year during October, November and December.
Rensselaer County raised money for toys through a gift basket raffle this season. The last day to buy tickets is Friday, Dec. 18 from 10 to 3 p.m. at the County Building. See this flyer and list of the prizes for more information.
