FSS Program Guides Families Toward Self-Sufficiency

December 23, 2015

Setting goals, reaching goals and making strides toward self-sufficiency: Families living in THA public and Section 8 housing are receiving the guidance they need through the Family Self Sufficiency program.
In December, Troy Housing Authority received $130,055 to support two staff members for the program, which has been active at THA for more than a decade. Other local authorities and municipalities, including the Albany Housing Authority, Cohoes Housing Authority, Towns of Colonie and Guilderland, also received funding.
HUD recently awarded more than $75 million in FSS grant funds to 701 public housing authorities nationwide.
