WAITING LIST OPENING FOR
VETERANS HOUSING AT 6-8 115TH STREET
(SOUTH WEST CORNER OF 2ND AVE AND 115TH ST)

The Troy Housing Authority will begin accepting pre-applications for the newly constructed apartments at 6-8 115th Street, Troy, NY 12182 at 10:00AM on March 1, 2017 at the Veteran’s of Lansingburgh, Inc. 777 1st Ave, Troy, NY 12182. Pre-applications are available at www.troyhousing.org or may be picked up at any Troy Housing Authority location.

Applicants already on waiting lists for other Troy Housing Authority programs must apply separately for the Veteran’s Housing at 6-8 115th Street, Troy, NY 12182. Such applicants will not lose their place on the other waiting lists when they apply for these apartments.

There are eight (8) one bedroom apartments available at this location, four (4) on the first floor and four (4) on the second floor. All the apartments on the first floor are fully handicapped accessible. Veterans applying for this housing will be served first. If there are no Veterans on the waiting list for this site then the next eligible person on the waiting list will considered. The Troy Housing Authority also has a Veteran preference for all of our public housing sites so Veterans are encouraged to apply to all of our locations.

One bedroom apartments are intended for 1-2 persons. All households must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Currently, 80% of the AMI is as follows: $45,950 for 1 person and $52,500 and for 2 persons. Rents will be based on adjusted gross income (AGI) with tenants paying 30% of their AGI toward their rent. Utilities are included.

On March 1, 2017 from 10:00AM-3:30PM pre-applications will only be accepted in person from the applicant (identification will be required) at:

777 1st Avenue
Troy, NY 12182

Thereafter, pre-applications will be accepted during normal office hours at any Troy Housing Authority location.

All pre-applications will be accepted and date and time stamped. Pre-applications found to be incomplete may be disqualified. Pre-applications are used to establish a waiting list. Applicants nearing the top of the waiting list will be invited to meet with Troy Housing Authority staff to complete the full application process.
