Project Based Voucher Waiting List Opening for Tapestry on the Hudson

January 26, 2017

The Troy Housing Authority will begin accepting pre-applications for the Project Based Voucher (PBV) Program for apartments at Tapestry on the Hudson at 9:00AM on February 8, 2017.  Pre-applications are available at www.troyhousing.org or may be picked up at any Troy Housing Authority location.

Applicants already on waiting lists for other Troy Housing Authority programs must apply separately for the Section 8 Project Based Voucher Program for apartments at Tapestry on the Hudson.  Such applicants will not lose their place on the other waiting lists when they apply for these apartments.

Tapestry on the Hudson, located at 599 River Street, Troy, NY, is managed by The Community Builders, Inc.  Twenty-eight of the sixty-seven new one and two bedroom apartments will receive rental assistance with a project based voucher.  Tapestry on the Hudson is responsible for taking applications for the remaining thirty-nine apartments in the building.  Several of the apartments are handicapped accessible and some are adapted for persons with visual or hearing impairments.  There are also a number of apartments set aside for survivors/victims of domestic violence with supportive services provided by Unity House of Troy, Inc.

One bedroom apartments are intended for 1-2 persons. Two bedroom apartments are intended for 2-4 persons.  All PBV households must be at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI).  Current AMI is as follows: $28,700 for 1 person; $32,800 for 2 persons; $36,900 for 3 persons and $41,000 for 4 persons.

On February 8, 2017 from 9:00AM-3:00PM PBV pre-applications will only be accepted in person from the applicant (identification will be required) at:

The Rainbow Center
Arnold E. Fallon Apartments
847 River Street, Troy, NY 12180

Thereafter, pre-applications will be accepted during normal office hours at any Troy Housing Authority location or at the offices of Tapestry on the Hudson.

All pre-applications will be accepted and date and time stamped. Pre-applications found to be incomplete may be disqualified.  Pre-applications are used to establish a waiting list.  Applicants nearing the top of the waiting list will be invited to meet with Troy Housing Authority staff to complete the full application process.

If you have any questions in regard to the PBV Program you may contact the Troy Housing Authority Section 8 Office at 518-273-8611 Extension 4.  If you have any questions about Tapestry on the Hudson you may call 518-268-2501.
