Proposed Significant Amendment to the Annual Plan

Troy Housing Authority is amending its annual and/or five year PHA plan.
THA has been approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the conversion of public housing units at Martin Luther King Apartments to Project Based Voucher assisted units under the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD). THA has engaged a development partner to facilitate the transition.
Additional significant amendments are expected for other THA sites in the future.
The conversation of the MLK Apartments will take place in three phases and will include the de-densification on the site, transferring 35 unites off site.
A 45-day public comment period began Nov. 13. A draft of the proposed amendment can be found here. Copies are available for review at the THA Administrative Office, 1 Eddy’s Lane, Troy NY.
The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 5 p.m. in the Community Room of the Martin Luther King Apartments, also at 1 Eddy’s Lane, Troy NY.
