What is your Background and How did it all start?
Born in New Hampshire. Graduate Troy High School, Russell Sage College and UAlbany. Served two 2-year terms as Rep of District 3. Currently President of the Troy City Council and Ten plus years on the THA Board (9 yrs as Chair).
What do you want people to know about you?
NYS OCFS in Public Info/Media. Loves fundraising and using creative side to tackle problems and come up with solutions. Rewarding to help people, represent my district and loves the challenge of steering the council which is a separate but equal branch of government.
What inspired you to get into your line of work?
Offered position on the Rensselaer County Legislature. Worked on legislation. Press Deputy Clerk. Into government and politics. 1st woman clerk. Served many positions within the county. 10 years at Vanderhyden Hall, Director of Public Info & Development. Good at Networking and Writing.
What qualities make a great leader?
Patience, willingness to listen to people, problems and be proactive to come up with a solution.
What do you ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR POSITION AT THA?
It has been rewarding to transform the portfolio and provide modern, affordable housing.
If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would it be? And why?
Joe Manupella: My mentor in politics, so he can see my journey and accomplishments.
A key figure to your professional or personal development / career path – and why?
Hillary Clinton: She is very accomplished, juggled responsibility as 1st Lady, family to become Secretary of State.

Don’t sell yourself short.
