key BOARD & STAFF MEMBERS

Marisol Candelario

What is your Background and How did it all start?

Born and raised in Washington Heights, NY. Graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and went to Monroe College in the Bronx major in Hospitality Management. True New Yo-Rican… Lived in 4 out of the 5 boroughs in NYC.

What inspired you to get into your line of work?

Enjoys helping people especially the Hispanic Community.

What do you want people to know about you?

I’m very vocal, passionate and takes pride in what I do. Known as the animal whisperer.

If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would it be?

Rita Moreno: Watched West Side Story growing up and Rita is a Puerto Rican and wasn’t playing the stereotypical maid role. I also loved watching her in Electric Company. Rita Moreno is the only Latina female to win an Oscar, Emmy, Tony & Grammy awards. She is a force to be reckoned with and a true badass.

What would you say to your younger self?

I am enough. I have every right to seat at the table my contributions are important even though they seem unrecognized. Thinking outside the box is not wrong.
