What is your Background and How did it all start?
I am Troy-lit, born in Puerto Rico, raised in Troy. Graduated Troy High School & Russel Sage.
What inspired you to get into your line of work?
The life I’ve lived, experiencing homelessness moving here from Puerto Rico at 5 years. Lived in St Joseph House, YWCA, Taylor and Griswold Heights. Attended the Ark Program & Charter School.
What do you ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR POSITION AT THA?
Love to help people be there for assistance through challenges.
What do you want people to know about you?
Love different cultures, travelling and a foodie.
If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would it be? And why?
Lydia Ramos Colon: My grandmother, I lost her very young and hear stories how she helped people. She was the Queen of the Empire and I’m sure I would have learned a lot more if she was still around.
A key female figure to your professional or personal development / career path – and why:
My mom Julia Ramos was a strong, single mother growing up and she didn’t play. She made sure I knew how to be independent and take care of myself.
Favorite Quote:

What would you say to your younger self?
Don’t give up. Hang in there. Try to find something you love. Stay positive.
