Corliss Park Renovation Progress

Troy Housing Authority and MDG Development held a Renovation Update Meeting for residents of Corliss Park Apartment. Residents were informed rehabilitation will officially begin on June 25th and will be completed over the next two years.

The Troy Portfolio Preservation Bundle 2 Project is the formal name used by THA & MDG when referring to the Corliss Park Apts., Margaret Phelan Apts., and Catherine Sweeney Apts. redevelopment project.

Scope of work for construction will include:

Building System Upgrades (Building Façade Repairs, New roofs, New Windows, New Doors, New Water Distribution and Sewer Lines, New Garbage Enclosures, New Energy Efficient HVAC Systems, New Front & Rear LED Lighting)

In-Unit Improvements (Fully Renovated Kitchens with New Cabinets, Countertops, Sinks, Energy Star Appliances, New Flooring, New Bathrooms with New Showers, Toilets, Vanities, Flooring)

Exterior Improvements (Repaired Sidewalks, New Walkways, including Handicap Accessibility, Landscaped Areas for residents to enjoy, Enhanced lighting, New Mailbox structures, Parking area repairs)

Buildings at Corliss Park will be renovated in Phases. Construction will occur during business hours (8am to 5pm). The tentative plan is for most residents to remain in place during the majority of the in-unit construction. Residents will be provided access to an onsite Hospitality Lounge to utilize during the day while construction takes place in their unit. Professional packing/moving services will be provided and coordinated by the development team. Costs associated will be paid for by the development team, not the resident.

Alicia Harrison, MDG’s Tenant Relocation Supervisor, will assist residents with coordinating with the construction teams. Resident outreach, resident information notices, in-unit access for the construction team and if needed temporary relocation coordination will all go through Alicia.

Alicia and the construction team will begin pre-renovation assessments in the coming weeks. Alicia will establish one-on-one contact with each resident prior to the start of construction of their unit to go over any necessities or accommodations that may be needed.

Questions or concerns relating to construction can be sent to Alicia via email: MDGRCA@MDGNY.COM

Questions or concerns relating to rent, lease or maintenance issues can be sent to Lori or staff at the Corliss Park Management office.
